The mission of the Swiss and German Cultural Legacy in America is to promote greater awareness of the cultural contributions of those who immigrated to the United States from Switzerland or Germany, or of those Americans who acquired knowledge and skills in either of these countries, and who returned to make lasting contributions to our society. As part of this mission, the SGCLA Foundation seeks to help maintain important buildings, monuments, landmarks and documents that gave witness to these contributions to American arts and sciences. The Foundation will engage in charitable services, namely, coordinating monetary and non-monetary contributions to other charities and non-profits. It also seeks to offer fundraising activities, funding, scholarships, as well as financial help for the dissemination of information about these legacies. SCGLA has not yet acquired 501(c)(3) status with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service but is actively pursuing this tax status.
This blog is a venue for promoting such awareness. The author hopes you will find interesting contributions. Knowing that less than 28% of any entry is actually read, and that entries greater than 200 words tax most readers, attempts to be brief will be made. There will be exceptions. This entry has 199 words.
